Trichoscopic Study on Tinea Capitis: A Hospital Based Study

Introduction: Tinea capitis is a common dermatophyte infection of the scalp and hair shaft, most commonly observed in children. Trichoscopy nonivasive tool which helps early diagnosis prompt treatment tinea capitis. Objectives: This study was carried out with aim to describe trichoscopic features find its different clinical variants aid trichoscopy. Materials Methods: hospital based cross sectional descriptive conducted from 1st January 2019 31st December 2019. All patients clinically diagnosed were included study. Result: A total 50 recruited. The age group found be 6-10 years (52%) 27 (54%) female. Majority population students, i.e. 46 (92 %). Family history positive 38% cases. seen black dots 20 (40%), followed by gray patch 15 (30%), kerion 8 (16%) combined type (both dots) 4 (8%). feature 40 (80%), comma hairs 38 (76%), corkscrew 33 (66%), broken 24 (48%). Conclusion: highlighted that use trichoscopy as non-invasive helped diagnosing cases without wood’s lamp laboratory investigations.
